As I opposed the odds-on Joe Jo Star in the 3.30 at Beverley, I was a little disappointed that I didn't find the winner when he was beaten.
Carpe Diem looked a decent E/W bet for the 4.00, he travelled well before finishing 2nd - he was no match for the winner.
Theocritus a recent selling winner at Brighton, followed up with another plating with at the same track. It's a shame he is a bleeder as he has plenty of ability.
Pipers Piping ran a cracker in the 4.20 to finish 3rd on the "wrong" side of the track.
Capucci and Tanto Faz were disappointing at Haydock, they will be more at home on easier going.
Walter Swinburn booked Andrea Atzenzi for the apprentice handicap at Kempton and it was no surprise to see Desert Kiss come home in front. He pulled nicely clear inside the last.
Devil You Know is progressing nicely and he took the 7.20, Lochan Mor was back in 2nd and should find a similar race for Michael Bell.
Priti Fabulous was a big disappointment in the 8.20, clearly something amiss there.
Ostaadi was very green in defeat in the 8.50, he is an interesting prospect for the remainder of the season.
Applaud looked to hold a major form chance (on last year's efforts) at Hamilton but could only manage 3rd in the 9.10. He has clearly regressed.
