Abu Dubai looked to hold a chance at the weights in the claimer at Wolverhampton but could only finish 5th. She is becoming disappointing.

I had my eye on a few in the 3.45. Watson's Bay travelled well before finishing 3rd on his debut for his new yard. He doesn't find a lot in a finish but I imagine Paul Howling will find a race for him. Into The Light ran ok back in 5th and will be of interest when his yard are in better form. Rotative had to be rousted along in rear but ran out an impressive winner come the line, a similar performance to that of her debut win. She clearly has ability and improvement in her so there should be more to come.

The 5.00 was ran at a suicidal gallop. Colour Of Money, Lady Amberlini and Great Knight all did well considering they were at the fore of the breakneck pace.

At Epsom, Tartan Gigha secured his 3rd win of the season in the 2.10. He is a little in and out but decent his day. Even if the handicapper catches up with him for this, he has already paid his way this season.

It wasn't that surprising to see the Coronation Cup run at a modest gallop. For that reason Look Here and Duncan deserve plenty of credit for playing their part in a close finish. Duncan cope with a further hike in class and Look Here has proved she can mix it with the boys at the top level.

Dream Desert disappointed in the 3.25, he hasn't progressed as expected. Charm School ran on well to finish 5th, I expected more from him this season but this was a promising effort and I think he will come into his own on a galloping track very soon. William Blake looked unlucky in 4th, he was travelling better than most two out but was repeatedly denied a clear run when carried across the course when the front two drifted right. He is on a fair mark.

The Oaks didn't interest me from a betting point of view. Sariska, ridden by Jamie Spencer, got the better of Midday in a thrilling finish. Jamie Spencer's dangerous and illegal move just after the turn rightly landed him with a 5-day ban.

Doncaster was a pleasing meeting for me. Queen Martha (6.05) looked to have been given a reasonable chance to progress by the handicapper and defeat never looked in doubt despite being easy to back throughout the day. There could be more to come.

Henry Cecil's Invincible Isle ran well on her debut before disappointing on the A/W. She appreciated the return to turf and took the maiden at 7.10. She could be interesting in handicaps.

Alsace Lorraine took advantage of a lenient 3lb hike in the weights to make it two from two this season when landed the 7.40. Aflaam ran well back in 4th and is definitely coming to hand.

Never Ending Tale was undoubtedly well handicapped for the 8.15 but prior to this had looked a hard ride. The cheek-pieces did the trick and he recorded his first handicap win. His attitude thus far has kept him well handicapped so there could be more success now he has his head in front.

The 8.45 saw Deauville Flyer well backed. He improved for the step up to middle distances on his final maiden start and showed a likable attitude to get off the mark here. He is going the right way.

At Bath, Bramalea was a disappointing favourite. As mentioned before on this blog, she needs to be dropped to a mile.

Rio Guru ran another solid race to finish 4th in the 7.50 at Goodwood. She is on a fair mark and will find easier tasks than this. Beau Fighter was disappointing in behind but should not be written off.
