This Ones For Eddy ran another solid race in the 3.40 at Hamilton but he was not match the better treated Mountain Cat. I still believe there is another turf race in him though.
The 4.40 was a complete match between Atlantic Beach and Tangerine Trees. Both are well handicapped and it was no surprise to see them fill the 1-2 spots. Tangerine Trees got the better of the duel late on. Atlantic Beach will surely get his head in front soon, especially if running on easier ground.
In the Lingfield maiden at 3.50, you could argue at Monaco Dream's form was the 2nd best on offer. Therefore it was no surprise to see her well backed before keeping on well for 2nd place. The odds on jolly Flame Of Gibraltar was a facile winner. Monaco Dream will be interesting now handicapping.
Although the 7.50 at Sandown was disappointing from an initial point of view, there was plenty to suggest there are more races to be won with my three selections in the race. Annabelle's Charm will benefit from stronger handling and a step back to 10f, Miss Glitters will find easier tasks and surfaces, and Cotswold wasn't knocked about in 5th.
The 8.55 was most pleasing. Kidlat ran a fine race to finish a close third, I wouldn't be surprised if connections tried him over further once again. Shavansky was over priced in the morning (16/1) and was subject to a massive gamble on-course. The maiden he won late last year at Lingfield worked out extremely well (Wine N' Dine, Annabelle's Charm and Cape Express all in behind), and he was well handicapped on that effort. There was the worry regarding his well being after a lay-off (hence the small bet), but those fears were misplaced as he travelled well and got his head down at the line to force a dead-heat.
